A Grand Opening Celebration

Drawing on the vibrant spirit and the rich history of Tubac, the grand opening celebration of Erde at 33 Tubac Road was an evening that beautifully intertwined the legacy of a renowned Arizonan artist with the introduction of what we feel is a fresh, inspiring brand to the community.

Nestled in the heart of Tubac, a village that takes visitors a world away from urban life, the event was imbued with the same charm and artistic flair that has seen the village voted as 'Best Small Town Arts Scene' for three consecutive years. Tubac’s streets, celebrated for their galleries, studios, boutiques, and artisan shops, mirror the ethos of Erde, which harmonizes with the village's tradition as an artist colony by featuring the works of local artists, and by also including nationwide small-batch makers and globally sourced and curated vintage and reclaimed pieces that speak to the modern and up-and-coming trends in home design. This connection was palpable as attendees mingled among the serene atmosphere and unique products at Erde, and the newest additions to the gallery of historical artwork by Hal Empie, embodying the village's reputation as a place where art, culture, and history meet.

The grand opening of Erde, therefore, was not just an introduction to a new brand but a neighborly embrace, anchored by the Chamber of Commerce's mixer event that served as the cornerstone of the evening. It was a collaborative celebration, courtesy of the owners of the Hal Empie Gallery, that honored not only the artistic heritage of Hal Empie but also the fabric of the Tubac community. Ann and Peter Groves gracefully opened their doors, allowing guests to traverse the personal studio and living space of Hal Empie, providing an intimate glimpse into the life of a man whose work has become synonymous with the cultural landscape of Tubac. This inclusive gesture by the Empie Gallery, in unison with the Chamber's event, underscored the strong sense of community in the village – a shared tribute to its rich past, dynamic present, and promising future.

As Erde takes its place among the vibrant tableau of Tubac, it is with immense gratitude to all who made the evening memorable – a true reflection of the community's supportive and close-knit nature.
